Please join other CHES Families for our Back to School Family Fun Day at the National Athletic Village on Saturday, August 13th, 2022, 4:30pm-7pm.

The NAV has many activities that all ages can participate in and have fun with!  There is something for everyone!  In addition to the normal activities there (walking trails, hunter games, spear throwing, soft-tip arrows, human foosball, beach volleyball, gaga ball, field, and an obstacle course), we will have a bouncy house and a water slide for CHES Families to enjoy.

We need help manning the bouncy house and water slide.  The rental company asks that we have at least one person at each one to encourage safety for the kids.  On the sign up page, we have two spots for each inflatable 30 minute time slots.  If several people volunteer, we can all visit with each other and enjoy the afternoon/evening.  Sign up with a friend or your spouse or get to know someone you haven't met yet!

CHES is providing chicken tenders, beverages, and paper products.  Please bring a side dish to share.  If it is not raining, we will be eating outside.  They have some picnic tables, but please be prepared with a picnic blanket for your family.

Please bring towels if your children plan to do the waterslide.  You may also want to consider bringing bug spray, Band-Aids, Epi-Pens, allergy meds – as with all outdoor events there is the chance for bumps and stings.

We were all disappointed that we could not enjoy everything the amazing Field Day Committee had planned for us for the CHES Field Day 2022.  Generous donors had made a wonderful day possible for us!  Since we weren't able to use the funds that were donated for the actual Field Day event, we are using those funds for our back to school event.

Please sign up online for the event so we know how many people to expect.  In the Public Comment section, please list the ages of your children that are attending so we can plan for the chicken tenders.

Additionally, the NAV requires each family to complete an online waiver.  Please use the link to complete yours.  Anyone who has not done it before the event will be required to sign one the day of.

We want everyone to feel free to invite non-CHES Homeschooling families.  We will have information for the 2022-2023 school year to present to the group and will have a handout with dates for the year.  It is a great way for families that are not familiar with CHES to learn about our group.

ALSO - There is a Bless our Schools prayer event on Sunday, August 14th.  All over Moore County, there will be meetings at schools and other locations from 4:30-5:30 to pray for the schools, students, and teachers.  Please join other CHES families at the back shelter at Yates Thagard Baptist Church to pray for our school years.  Yates Thagard Baptist Church is located at 3820 Vass Carthage Road, Carthage, NC (Between Carthage and Vass).
